Byron has some very talented professional and amateur photographers. While the landscape lends itself to creating beautiful photos, it takes some skill to catch the right light from the right angle and enhance the shot to create spectacular images.

Here are some of the photographers whose work will be featured in the Byron Trails guidebook.

Dave Hall

Dave Hall is a Byron resident for whom photography is a serious hobby! He has been taking shots of Byron’s water scenery (the surf) and lush farmland scenery (the turf) since the 80’s.

Sera Wright

Sera Wright is a born and bred Byron Bay photographer, being lucky to have grown up in one of the most beautiful places in Australia. She is a self-taught landscape, lifestyle and travel photographer. With a passion for nature and conservation, Sera hopes her photos will inspire people to get outside, explore and bring awareness to the importance of caring for the planet.

Mike Doran

For Mike Doran, photography is more than simply creating a picture; it is the art of creating a memory, evoking an emotion, or capturing the beauty of life in a single moment in time. He believes that capturing that beauty is the responsibility of a photographer.

Dave Whiteman

Dave Whiteman lives in the Blue Mountains and has been a regular visitor to the Tweed Valley for over 60 years, a place he now considers to be his second home. Essentially a landscape photographer, Dave’s images capture the unique beauty and moods of the Australian landscape from the ocean to the mountains.

These pictures paint a thousand words about the beauty of the area and are a great preview to what’s out there waiting to be explored.
