Nightcap Bluff is a ridge in the north-eastern part of Nightcap National Park. Walking there from Rummery Park Camping Area takes you past Peates Mountain and along the Historic Nightcap Track.
This walk is 4-5 hours each way so it can be nice to camp the night before and the night after in Rummery Park Camping Area. That way you can set off first thing with lots of water and food and get back with the light. You can book in advance through the National Parks website.
On average there are about 12 hours of daylight with a little more in summer and a little less in winter so plan accordingly.
Views from the Bluff take in Huonbrook valley to the southeast and Doon Doon valley in the northwest. The walk starts from Rummery Park and takes you north along Peates Mountain Road. It’s a ‘there and back again’ track so you return along the same route.
